It's enough for supper. ;) The website has a menu ($27-$32) for supper
There is no buffet
Went there last night. The food was good but it’s not worth the high price. The service was horrible. A waitress took our order and never returned. They forgot one of our orders and it took them 45min to realize it. There was no apology and no one said a thing. The delay caused me to be late for my appointment
We frequent this place for many reasons. The staff first of all is always pleasant. The food is amazing and fresh. Love the sashimi. Tonight we are having king Salmon, and blufin tuna sashimi.10/10 for sure. Atmosphere/food/staff
As always, fabulous food!!!! So nice to dine in.
Thank you Yokozuna! Your food is amazing! Beautifully presented and so very tasty. We had a staff appreciation lunch and ordered several platters of rolls and sashimi, and the team devoured it all! Highly recommend eating here, you will not be disappointed.
Absolutely love the Yokozuna Aburi roll and the garlic tuna!! Best on the menu .
Service was very bad tonight. Restaurant was not even busy. Normally have great service. Was in the restaurant for over 1 hour and never got asked if we wanted more drinks or anything. Cleaned up our own table. Did not leave a tip and the manager showed a waitress that we did not leave one and looked at us like they were entitled to one. You will not get a tip if you do not provide good service. Simple. Very disappointed as normally have had great experiences here.
It wasn’t my idea to have lunch here, but I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was! We had both fresh fish and cooked dishes and they were fantastic! Sushi has a new meaning for men me! The staff were very kind and this is a great place to visit do for a lunch meeting as it’s quiet and you’re able to hear each other. There are plenty of semi-private areas that also make it more comfortable. Thanks!
I am always satisfied every time I eat here. So far everything is delicious and the staff are friendly and the booths are nice and cozy.
Good service, and good food. If you like deep fried sushi rolls, order the super cute Dragon Eyes roll.
The fam and I recently became vegans and to tell you the truth we don’t go out as much because we didn’t know places like this have a vegetarian option. Which if you see here is all vegan except for the tempura but is up to you if you eat it or not, im not a big fan but it came on my bento box. We really enjoyed the food, staff was great, looooved the place decor and we will be coming back for more!
They never disappoint. Love the food they serve there.
Dropped in for a take out lunch. Reasonable price for my sashimi combo. Excellent quality tuna, better than the salmon. Large slices of each. Surf clam was quite tender. Pleasant clear soup, very tasty dressing on the salad. Greens crisp and fresh. Not the best tamago, but generous slices. Quick and curteous. Will do again. Clean and handsome decor.
Good and delicious food. Great service and health precautions with customers in restaurant, delivery service and pick up.
Such nice and friendly staff 👍One of my new favourite Sushi 🍣 places in Edmonton. Lots of parking very easy to get to. Superfood and great sized portions. One of the largest Saki menus I have ever seen with nearly 20 choices and some Japanese Whiskeys with Japanese beer on tap. Worth the trip enjoy!
This is one of the family's favourite sushi places for dinner. Sashimi and rolls are always great! Good quality portions of fish and friendly service with a great atmosphere!
I visited here recently and enjoyed the overall experience. The Tatami room was quite nice and the server checked on us a few times (which was quite nice as some servers forget that they have a table in a Tatami room). In terms of food, I tried the Ohzeki Sashimi Set, Yokozuna Skewers Set, Assorted Tempura, and several rolls (Yokozuna Aburi, Black Dragon, and 1 to 2 other ones). Their sashimi was quite fresh and the Ohzeki is definitely a value item for Yokozuna if you have a group. The Black Dragon roll is also worth getting. All other items are decent. Overall, the price here is a bit on the expensive side.
Great big servings. I enjoy soft shell crab (spider rolls) but these rolls has far too much rice in them. Good customer service
Delicious sashimi and the beef udon had great flavour most places it's just noodles in water. It was busy but they were friendly and attentive.
South side's best sushi!! Check their hours before you go.
Great service and great ambience. Scallop Maki could use more mayo, it was dry. Great vegetarian Bento box. We tried the avo ago roll and the yam tempura roll, both of which were good but could use a bit more flavour and depth.
Yokozuna is one of Edmonton great neighborhood hidden gems. The space is comfortable, service has always been excellent, and the food is to die for.
Absolutely love this place. I've been eating sushi for 20 years and this is one of the best places I've found in Edmonton. Pricey, but you get what you pay for. My favourite. Plus, the family is so sweet and kind. It's so nice visiting with them Everytime.
Pretty new to Edmonton still. Sushi here is definitely a bit more pricier than I'm used to. Price for quality is a bit high but it seems in line with most sushi restaurants in Edmonton. We had the beef tataki. It was amazing. Slices were a bit thicler than most places but they added a bit of spice and it qorka really well with the acidity of the tataki.Their black dragon roll was also delicious. The unagi on top was thick savory and had a bit of smoke. Rainbow roll was just okay. But the tuna specifically on top was very soft pretty much melts in the mouth. Didnt really care for the braised pork belly and their takoyaki had felt like it had no tako in it. Overall good place and the atmosphere inside is very warming.
I have gone a few times with friends, the quality is always great. Best Miso soup I've had. Price is similar to Mikado but this place is better. The bento's are very good and you get lots of food. The skewers are great, though if you are hungry you may need a lot to fill you up, good accompaniment to more filling stuff. They are very accommodating when it comes to allergies. Our server Nana was amazing, friendly and funny. We will be returning.Ps try the genmaicha and the sesame ice cream, yum!
My favorite Japanese restaurant in the city. Great atmosphere, A+ food, best staff.
A good place to have a lunch bento.
Just finished having dinner here and it was average overall. The sashimi was fantastic, the skewers were way over priced. The squid, pork belly and shrimp look like some cheap frozen stuff from superstore. The 3 tiny shrimp were $5 and that was mind boggling. They were not even big shrimp and the pork belly was like a thick slice of bacon and the squid was definitely something from a bag of cheap frozen seafood. I feel like this place might be feeling the effects of covid with their seafood importing and they're just frying whatever they can. The sushi was a little average but nothing that will make me come back.
This place is amazing. Everything was absolutely delicious. We had a bit of everything.
Salmon sashimi was amazing! Great atmosphere. Rolls were packed. Come hungry
I absolutely LOVE this place! This is one of the few Japanese restaurants in the city that keeps it authentic yet still modern! The service from the staff is friendly, professional and quick! The food is always amazing! Portions are a good size and tastes great each and every time! It’s nice that not all the dishes are completely soaked in sauce, I like how everything compliments. I was recommend to this place from my Japanese friends and it is my go to!!
Our server was super helpful and knowledgeable! He had lots of suggestions, and helped us figure out what we wanted to eat lol. The food tasted very fresh but wasn't as flavourful as I was hoping for the price. Still a great experience!
Amazing food! 10/10 would go again. I've never had such good service! The food came fast, everything was hot and very delicious!!
Looks great and all. We finished our sushi and the plate wasn’t collected while more food was coming in eventually someone came and picked up the plates. At the end we were still hungry and ordered 2 more Beef Udon and waited like 30min (still waiting when typing). Ah and it just arrived! The service I’ve received is opposite with what everyone else is saying. But the food is fairly good!
I am currently going around the city trying out Chirashi from different Japanese restaurant. The Chirashi bowl I had here: Rice: 6 / 10Fish: 8 / 10Service: take out only, but was warmly greeted at the door and my order ready to be pick up.The Chirashi bowls was a bit pricey in my opinion, but I enjoyed the bowl for its freshness and variety of seafood. For the price I paid i was hoping the rice would be better though, as well would like to see the quantity of the seafood goes up a bit.
My always sashimi go-to place in Edmonton.
Food was okay. Yokozuna roll could've used more sauce. The dragon roll was disappointing. The texture was gummy, and the orange sauce was not spicy at all. The beef tataki was paper thin, so don't order that.
Delicious!! This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but when you step in its the greatest surprise, it's a cute place with fesh and great service, I can't wait to come back.
My favourite sushi place in all of Edmonton! The people working there a so friendly.
These guys really are amazing, even with the shut down currently the are so accommodating to pick up requests. Customer service is so great and the food is even better!
Amazing experience! Best Sashimi ever and good size portions for the price. Will definitely return!
The interior is nice and clean. Staff were really nice as well. We got a miso soup, the Yokozuna special roll and a spicy tuna maki (which was made different than most places) both were tasty though!
I have been to Yokozuna a few times over the years and have been for dinner and lunch. Being from Vancouver I am a little snobby about sushi. However quality here is quite good and the service is great as well. Nice spot!
Love it here! Excellent and friendly service as well as amazing food. The pick up service is very quick as well just call ahead.
I love Yokozuna! I have been visiting them since way back when they were on UA campus. I have never been disappointed. I was there twice just last week, just because the sushi cravings were strong. I love sitting at the sushi bar, asking the sushi chefs for suggestions and ordering as I go along. The space is really nice, atmosphere very relaxed, the staff very attentive. Seafood is always fresh, portions are good, rice is not your dominant ingredient. The menu is extensive and I haven’t yet tried everything, but whatever I have had, I loved. I’ll be back again and again:)
Why are you so amazing. My go to sushi restaurant. LOVE EATING HERE!!
Hands down some of the best sushi in the city, so far. Really great quality, pricier but tastyliciousness!
Unfortunately in Edmonton, we do not have a large number of great Japanese restaurants to choose from. I always miss the quality we experience from cities such as Vancouver or San Francisco. However, if you're looking for a quick fix to satisfy your sushi craving, Yokozuna definitely makes it onto my Top 10 list of Japanese restaurants in Edmonton. We started off with the Geso Age, Assorted Tempura, and Yokozuna Garlic Tuna. The batter on the Geso Age and Tempura was light, crispy, and fried to perfection. Sadly, we were not a big fan of the Yokozuna Garlic Tuna. I love garlic, but the garlic chips completely overpowered the delicate flavour of the Albacore tuna.Next we had the Chirashi, Spicy Tuna Maki, Yellowtail, Toro, Chop Chop and Mackerel Nigiri. The quality of the fish was good and the rice was seasoned well.Overall, the restaurant has a great ambience and the service is always quick. We've been coming here for years, and will continue to support them in our Edmonton food scene.
Loved the atmosphere and the service was prompt and friendly. I thought the tuna hosomaki and miso soup were very well done! We also got the Yokozuna roll and it was good, but the lettuce and lemon weren't my favourite so I would probably try a different roll next time. Will definitely be back though!
This place is our Friday night spot when it’s just to 2 of us. We got there lots. The sushi here is amazing. If you like salmon sashimi, last for the king salmon. You won’t regret it. (And the sashimi portions are big here)The ambiance is cozy and warm. The staff has always impressed us.They can accommodate groups, couples and private gatherings. The outside looks simple but inside is where it’s at.
Reliable and tasty Japanese food. The robata is highly recommended but only served during dinner. Lunch menu pricing is very good and fair. Fast service and a nice place to take the family.
